Imani Nsamila is a professional independent Photographer/Videographer focused on the environment, photojournalism, documentary photography and has a specific interest in Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).
My style is a combination between photojournalism and fine-art photography with a touch of fashion and creative lighting. My photos are inspired by light, color, techniques from black & white processing, vintage photos, creative perspective, and of course, most importantly, the personalities of the people I photograph!
Early life
Imani Nsamila is a professional independent Photographer/Videographer focused on the environment, photojournalism, documentary photography and has a specific interest in Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs).
Nsamila was born on 22 July 1991 in Kigoma and raised in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Before discovering his talent for photography, his dream was to make films and record videos.
His parents took him to attend a filmmaking college but Nsamila didn’t complete his studies after being involved in a car accident that broke his arm. He quit his dream because it was so hard for him to balance his camera while shooting videos.
After fully recovered from the accident In 2014, he volunteered for the Climate Change Caravan [2] by the Norwegian Church Aid (NCA) as a photographer, and they let him travel across regions in Tanzania working with the youth of the Climate Change Caravan. He fell in love with photography and nothing was ever the same.
